Rumor has it that Adobe is almost finished with porting Flash onto the iPhone. I know that i’ve been saying this for months now, but it finally looks as if Adobe is serious with following this through all the way.
You may recall that Steve Jobs renounced the possibility of Adobe’s Flash player working on the iPhone earlier this year, claiming that “there’s this missing product in the middle.”
Well, in the current situation, Flash Lite might just be capable of closing that aforementioned gap. According to Adobe’s Senior Director of Engineering Paul Betlem,
“My team is working on Flash on the iPhone, but it’s a closed platform.” He noted that Apple makes all the decisions, so in other words, the ball is in Apple’s yard at this time.
