We have already seen the confirmation coming from each of the three Russian carriers letting us know they were planning on selling the iPhone 3G, but up until now there has not been any official mention of a specific release date.
It seems that wait has come to an end and October 3 will be the day, well actually the official statement has it going on sale “during the night between October 2 and October 3.” From the announcement the three carriers MTS, Vimpelcom and MegaFon will all begin sales at the same time. In addition to the cellular carriers, customers can also pick up an iPhone 3G at one of several electronic stores which include Tekhnosila, Eldorado and M.video.
As for the pricing, the 8GB model will retail for 22,999 rubles (around $924 US) and the 16GB model will retail for 26,999 rubles (around $1,084 US). The iPhone 3G will also be sold as an unlocked device.
