Brightkite now available in the App Store

As expected, the location based social networking app Brightkite is now available in the App Store (iTunes link). The app is available as a free download and any current Brightkite users can begin to check it out immediately.

The one drawback that I can see here is that Brightkite is currently still in a private beta, which means that you need an invitation to enjoy, or even check out the service. But, do not worry, we can help you out with that. I have 10 invites that I can pass out, just leave your information in the comments below.

I downloaded the app early this morning and so far I am thinking this will be more than enough to encourage me to begin using the service on a more regular basis. In fact the only issue that I have seen is that the app does not seem to want to work if your location services are turned off, which really takes some of the enjoyment out of the app in the first place.

Well I assume the “kind soul” who sent me an invite was you? I had signed up earlier at the site for an invite but got reply it might be a while and I got one right after posting here so if it was from you Thank You and if not I didn’t want to use 1 that might go to someone else..

    Mikey Vig,

I just sent yours out a few minutes ago, I put our website name in the invitation so you should see how it was from. I hope you enjoy the service, so far I am liking the native app as opposed to the web app that was available.
