Limited edition Beatles iPod now available

The Beatles music may not yet be available in iTunes, but that has not stopped the release of a limited edition Beatles iPod from coming available. The newly released collection is retailing for $795 and is limited to just 2,500 units and based on the description it sounds like it will be left for the more hardcore of Beatles fans.

The collection comes with the thirteen original Beatles albums, the Love CD, two masters, an engraved guitar pick and is packaged in a wooden box that was designed by Psycho Bunny. The iPod itself is a numbered black 120GB model and has the Beatles logo etched on the front and the Abbey Road artwork etched on the back.

Limited edition sets always make me wonder, in this case it is a little strange that you get all the CD’s included in the set. It seems that anyone who is willing to shell out the $795 purchase price would be a big enough fan to already have the music. Not to mention this makes no mention of digital tracks, which means that you would still have to rip these CD’s in order to listen to them on your new iPod.

As a Beatles fan myself this is really tempting, but I think I am going to have to pass on this one.
