The Dev Team has posted another update on their iPhone 3G unlocking progress, and it seems they are getting ever so closer. According to the team, they now have the ability to “spawn background tasks” which means they are “one step closer to the 3G soft unlock.”

Still no timeline, or any expectation as to when this will be available, but it was mentioned that they have a “clear path to follow and all that remains is the implementation.” Additionally, they have also reiterated their recent warning message: “don’t update to official 2.2 when it comes out if you ultimately want a 3G soft unlock!”
