It looks like the iPhone 3G will soon be making its way into Wal-Mart and select Sam’s Club locations beginning in late-December. The details, which are being called “confirmed” by BGR is that December 28 will be the day. Initially it strikes me as a little odd that Apple could not get them in stores before Christmas, but I suppose its better late than never. Hey, the could always catch the customers who are making returns.
As for Wal-Mart, it looks like the iPhone 3G will be available at around 2,500 locations. The Sam’s Club locations are not anywhere as high, instead it is expected to be available at 69 locations. The Sam’s Club locations are those that have the Wal-Mart ordering system, as opposed to the Radio Shack ordering system. Well, the availability seems to be confirmed, however the pricing still remains a mystery.

While this announcement is exciting because more people will be exposed to the iPhone, it concerns me that the typical knowledge of sales staff will certainly be lacking.
