We have received some good news coming from the team over at mophie, the juice pack for the iPhone 3G is now available and has begun shipping. The juice pack offers both an external battery along with protection up the back of the phone, the juice pack slides on the bottom of the iPhone and has a non-slip rubberized backing.

As for features, the juice pack has a pass through USB which will allow the user to leave their iPhone in the battery and still easily charge or sync. It also has an LED battery status indicator with four lights that show the user how much juice is left, or when charging how much longer till the battery is fully charged.

As for that extra power, the juice pack is said to “give users more than twice the power.” Or in other words it offers up to an additional 350 hours on standby, 28 hours for audio playback, 8 hours for video playback, 6 hours for 3G talktime, 12 hours for 2G talktime and 6 hours of 3G surfing or 7 hours of Wi-Fi surfing.

The juice pack for the iPhone 3G is retailing for $99.95, and is currently listed as “ships within 24 hours.” Well, better go and place my order, the juice pack is going to come in very handy during CES this coming January.
