Qik has recently announced support for the iPhone along with the iPod touch, but sadly it is not in the form on a video streaming application. Instead they have announced compatibility for “most of the features available on the qik.com website.”
Some of the features that are now available include viewing Qik videos, searching, viewing the location of the video, as well as editing the title, tags and descriptions for your Qik videos. You can also login and edit your profile, set the privacy level on your videos, choose to follow others and much more.
Unfortunately, you will still need to jailbreak your iPhone in order to live stream, but hopefully that will change in the not to distant future. Simply visit http://qik.com from your iPhone or iPod touch and it will send you to a nice Mobile Safari friendly layout.
Finally, for those who are still wondering when the Qik app will make its way into the App Store, according to the comments they are “still working towards it” and they still “have work on our end to do prior to submitting to the appstore.” In short no good answer as to when.
