Apple relaxes App Store requirements, approves the once rejected Pull My Finger app

It seems that Apple may have had a slight change of heart when it comes to apps that are of “limited utility.” The once rejected Pull My Finger app has recently been approved and added to the App Store (iTunes link). Personally, I find little value in this $0.99 app, of course that said, I also feel it should have been approved from the beginning. It is nice to see it finally get the seal of approval.

According to the developer, Apple will be accepting more of these types of apps, and that the initial denial was so they could figure out “how this “genre” of apps were going to be handled.” While I have yet to see anything official come from Apple in regards to this, it would be safe to believe that other apps that were once deemed “limited utility” will begin to get accepted into the App Store. So far they seem to be growing quickly, I have already seen similar fart related apps to include iPooted, iFart Mobile and Fart Machine, I guess there is plenty of room for this kind of humor. I can almost see the notes beginning to go home with students — Dear Mr and Mrs so and so, Your childs iPhone was taken away because they were using it to disturb the class.
