With 2008 quickly coming to an end, we are sure to begin seeing all of those “top 2008″ style lists coming. Give that, Apple has just announced the top downloaded apps for 2008, which you can check out in iTunes (App Store link). The apps are broken down into the usual categories which include the both free and paid apps. Additionally they are broken down into categories which include games, entertainment, utilities, social networking and music.
Overall, I am not sure there is much surprise in the list, the top free apps include the always popular items such as Facebook, Pandora, Tap Tap Revenge, Remote and AIM. If nothing else this could be a nice way to look for anything you may have missed, and with all of the apps that have been released, it was certainly easy to miss some.
