Im more than a little annoyed with this script. Firstly It doesn’t work and secondly neither do my mouse or keyboard anymore. I installed quickpwn for mac and followed the instructions to jailbreak my iphone using an external USB hub, thankfully that worked, but a piece of software that potentially and reportedly can wreck and force a reinstall of an entire operating system should at least come with a warning.

BEWARE – THIS CAN AND PROBABLY WILL WRECK YOUR MAC!.

Thnx Uploader, my 10.5.6 Leopard CD is hiding somewhere in a box and now my photography project has gone to the dogs because “mae Culpa” i reinstalled Quicktime. Watch out for this one guys, its “point and click” software, just like a gun.

This worked on my MacBook 10.5.6 – phone jailbroken! hooray!

Then I read this article – yikes!:

Gist is, do not update your Quicktime until you have replaced the files mentioned here back to their original state. You can do this by copying the files from the backup folder on the desktop into the desktop folder where the Automator script resides. run the automator again and the files will be restored..

many people have had severe problems with this program making their computers inoperable.
you can put the iphone in DFU mode if it is plugged into a usb hub rather than direct into the computer.

Hi,

I followed the above steps. After I accept the terms of use, it asks me for my password and then something runs in the background (I see status updates next to my time machine Icon on the task bar) and then it stops and nothing else happens. I don’t get the “Updating Boot Caches” message.

I tried to go through the terminal to the path where its supposed to copy the new files, and those files aren’t there.

Any idea on what could be missing? I really want my iPhone back
