Chunghwa Telecom has announced that they will soon have the iPhone 3G available. The release date will be December 13, with pre-sales running from today through December 10. In addition to the release date, Chunghwa has also announced some pricing and plan details. As for the pricing, the 8GB handset will be available for free, that is as long as customers are willing to sign a two-year agreement with a monthly fee of NT$2,549 (about $76 US). And for those not concerned with getting the iPhone for free, other calling plans will be available for as low as NT$1,049 (about $31 US) a month. Customers can also opt for a pre-paid agreement and purchase the iPhone outright for NT$26,600 (about $800 US). Additionally, Chunghwa is hoping to be able to sell 50,000 units by March of 2009.
