Mac Giving Tree is a project run by the folks over at MacHeist devoted to giving its users iPhone/Mac applications for free.
After you sign-up on their website you are greeted with a large Christmas tree decorated with iPhonesque application icons. When one of these icons begins to wiggle from side to side you must click it in order to be entered into a random drawing to receive the application free of charge! If you happen to be selected you will receive a promo-code that can be used in the iTunes App Store to redeem your app.
The catch? Unfortunately the promo-codes will only work for US residents using the US version of the iTunes App Store.

PS: The free Mac apps are at the bottom of the tree, whereas the iPhone apps are on the tree itself!
