LogMeIn has recently introduced a new iPhone and iPod touch app, which, of course can be found in the App Store. Just as the name implies and similar to the current desktop version, LogMeIn Ignition will allow users to login and control your computer from a remote location.
So aside from the cool factor of being able to access and control your home computer all on a device that fits in the palm of your hand, this does have some perks such as being able to find or read that must have document that you forgot to bring with you. Not to mention, it could be a very helpful tool for some IT professionals who regularly take care of minor issues.
Sure, it is hard to deny the obvious, this remote access may feel limited due to the small screen size on the iPhone, however LogMeIn Ignition does allow you to move around the desktop, as well as pinch and zoom on those areas that you need to see a little larger.
The app is currently available and is retailing for $29.99.

$30 is too much. I really need it, but I’ll buy it at $5 max.

$30 is nuts!Gimme a break, I’ll wait and see if somthing similar is released via Cydia, Or until they see that in the long run they could make more money by dropping the price and selling the app to thousands more people who would love to use it just cant afford to throw away $30 at Christmas time.

LogMeIn is known for taking their pricing too far, so this is no surprise..Besides, this is a tool which obviously cannot replace the desktop version…I was a long-time user of LogMeIn Rescue, but it’s just waay too overpriced, so I ended up switching to Techinline (http://www.techinline.com) which has less features, but is probably faster and easier to use, as well as far less expensive than LMI
