I could notice a lag in the conversation but i guess that was there because of poor signal strength. yeah, the patch is v 1.0.1.4 but it works!

You don't do it from your FTP program. Also, unzip on your computer using Winzip or Windows/Mac's built-in unzipping utility. You'd need an FTP client, such as Cyberduck on Mac (I didn't need to set permissions using this program either), and that's how you copy the new Fring.app onto the iPhone after SSHing (which is FTPing) into it. You do this via WiFi and an FTP client. Your phone has to be jailbroken for this to work, and you have to install a couple of things via Cydia.
