Noticeably absent from coverage has been any Yellowsn0w notifications since its release. Initially I was honestly not terribly excited about the release, sure it was a great accomplishment, however I think I downplayed the overall community response. Not to mention it was initially an “early” beta release. Anyway, since then it seems to have matured a little and I have been reading less issues and complaints about it not working. That combined with the Dev Teams latest update post had me reconsider my initial thoughts.
Anyway, according to the update, which focuses a little on the past, present and future, they mentioned that they could “probably declare yellowsn0w out of “beta” status.” Of course, that is not to say that there is not still risk involved and that you should obviously still follow the directions pretty close. As it had been since the initial release, Yellowsn0w can be found within Cydia, which means you need to jailbreak first, and the latest version is 0.9.6. In the meantime head on over to the Dev Team website to check out their full post.
