CastRoller announces RssPlayer app intergration

One of my favorite iPhone apps is RssPlayer and now thanks to some recently announced integration with CastRoller, finding and subscribing to new podcasts may become a little easier. The integration was announced over on the CastRoller blog and is currently in place. Now when you are using CastRoller and find a podcast that you believe is worthy of checking out, you will be given an option to subscribe using RssPlayer (in addition to iTunes) when clicking the “Subscribe to Feed” drop down.

Also, for those unfamiliar with CastRoller, it is basically a way to find new podcasts by taking advantage of social features and user recommendations. You can check them out by visiting their website at http://castroller.com.

The one downfall with the new support from CastRoller is (strangely) the lack of a nicely formatted iPhone friendly web site and while it is not a deal breaker for me, it would be a nice touch. Of course, that was noted as being “available soon.”

Glad you like it. Something else that makes CastRoller + RSS Player powerful is that you can add all of your favourite podcasts to your CastRoller collection and then you get a single feed that contains the latest episodes from each of those podcasts.

This means that you can subscribe to a new podcast using CastRoller on your desktop and then your iPhone will automatically get the latest episodes without you having to do anything on your phone.

And yes, the iPhone version of the site is coming soon.
