One of the most common things that seems to happen when iPhone users get together is checking out each others setup. Well, being we are all spread out over the world, getting together can sometimes be very difficult, so what better way than to share our setups virtually.
Personally, I have five screens on my iPhone, however none of them are filled entirely. I try not to have more than three rows filled on mine, as I like the empty space below my apps and above my dock. As you can see, I have a few jailbroken apps loaded, mostly to change some settings or better customize the phone. Otherwise my favorite and most used apps are currently (in no particular order) PhoneFlix, Calendar, SugarSync, Dialer, Evernote, Clock, Slacker, Tweetie, BuddyFeed, Facebook, USA Today and LED Football.
Anyway, here is what my setup currently looks like.

Well, you have seen mine, now lets see yours! Leave some comments below. Also, if you have any questions about an app I have installed, or a setting that is modified ask away.

I’m familiar with most of the apps, but where did you get that stand?! I’ve been looking for something like that for some time…

The stand is the Ped2 from ThoughtOut.biz. They offer some great products, this one is more than a few years old now, but still just as nice as they day I got it. You can find them at http://thoughtout.biz/

Wait…how did you get 5 applications on the bottom “dock” section as opposed to usual 4? I tried dragging an extra app down there to do this but it doesnt work…
Is my iphone just defective or something?

You have 5 apps in your dock. How is that done?
February 2nd, 2009 at 5:24 pm
This is a jailbroken iPhone. (hence the Cydia app on the phone). Having 5 icons in the dock is possible by using “5 Icon Dock”.

His phone is iBroken…
If Apple wasn’t so hell bend on limiting innovation a lot more would be possible, but instead we get this underground movement that jailbreak’s to improve the phone and allow silly simple things like five icons on the bar, why Apple would think five icons is bad is beyond me…
If Apple had provided a creative outlet for the jail breaking community to do there stuff within the Apple approved community we wouldn’t be seeing the apps that break things like application protection and us USERS would get a better product, sure it would cost Apple a dime here and I doubt removing the piracy that is available with jailbreaking is costing Apple any money, I do not believe that ONE pirate equals ONE lost sale, most of the time a pirate is never in a million years going to pay, but still the way Apple runs thing they might as well be paying the jailbreaking community money to do there stuff.
Apple would have better control if it had created the premium AppStore and then a Firefox like extension AppStore giving the jailbreaking community a place to operate inside Apples sphere of influence instead of being completely outside it.

I activated my 5 icon dock using a setting in an app called Kate, which is available in the Installer.app. Kate offers the 5 icon dock, along with some other goodies including the ability to block SMS alert pop-ups, changing the system font and adding a calendar on the lock screen.
Although I am not a big fan of the Installer.app (I prefer Cydia), Kate is the one application that I install using it. Kate is also the main reason I choose to jailbreak my iPhone which is because I hate having the SMS notification box pop-up when I am doing something else.

Great apps on your iphone! I have a question.
How did you put the bell symbol, percentage of battery and that exclamation mark?
Thanks
February 3rd, 2009 at 2:25 pm
The bell signal is for the ringer (in this case it is silent), the exclamation mark is an SMS alert and there is also an envelope (not shown) for new mail — these are all part of an app called Notifier and is available in Cydia for jailbroken iPhones.
The numeric battery indicator is a setting in an app called Boss Prefs — which is also available in Cydia.

Great! Ive got them all working, but the bell sign isnt available in the notifier.. Do I need to access any special menu in the notifier app? All the signs are activated by default but there’s no sign of bell!
Many thanks, keep up the good work, I browse this blog severall times a day!

Jneves, I am sorry, I typed Notifier in my last comment and meant to type Reminder. They are both similar apps and Reminder has the bell icon. I just recently switched over.

How do i Customise my Home screen, make them jiggle so i can move the apps
February 18th, 2009 at 9:15 am
Hayley, to customize the screens and app order, just hold down on an app, it takes a few seconds but it will begin to jiggle. Then move them around how you want. Once you are satisfied with the new layout just hit the home button to stop the jiggle.

Jneves, I like the bell symbol. Tried to find Reminder app in Cydia but unfortunately could not find it.
Which ressources would I need?
February 19th, 2009 at 2:08 pm
Hi Robert,
finally I found “Reminder” (currently called “Notifier”), but there is no option to show the bell sysmbol.
Could you please help?
Thanks

Supermax,
The bell symbol was just there for me, I had never had to configure that part. It just showed when the ringer was turned off (silent), but strangely it stopped working a few days ago. I am not sure if it was just left from an earlier version. Either way, it seems to be gone, still I am glad you found Notifier. I still, even without the ringer notification, like the app.
