A new app that has recently been released for jailbroken iPhones is offering Bluetooth file transfers of both image and audio files. Granted, this functionality is something that I would have though Apple would have given us, however I am just happy that it is being worked on, official or not.
The iBluetooth app is not free, but it is low priced at just 3.99 euros (around $5.14 US) and it can be downloaded from Cydia. The price of the app is also going to ensure future development, which is the good news. The developer has stated that a future version will allow iBluetooth to run as a background service, which would mean that users would be able to do things like use Bluetooth wireless headphones.
This is one app that I certainly would not mind paying for, I can only hope it is fairly gentle when it comes to battery life. Of course, with firmware 3.0 about to preview, maybe this is another feature that we will see from Apple.
