With plenty of developers already using the beta of iPhone 3.0 we are beginning to get a good look at some of the new features that went unannounced during the March 17 event. Some of the latest deal with podcasts, both in terms of downloading and playback.
To begin with, the good news is that the 10MB download limit seems to have been removed. Previously, if you wanted to download a podcast that was larger than 10MB in size, it had to be done over a Wi-Fi connection (or transferred from iTunes). Hopefully this will remain, and is just not something that was overlooked in this early beta release. Also, as a strange side note, the 10MB limit is still in place when downloading apps from the App Store.
Additional podcast playback features include a new 30-second rewind button, playback speed control and a mail icon that allows you to email an iTunes podcast link. There is also a new “variable speed scrubbing” control that should allow the listener to search for a particular spot in a podcast with a little more accuracy.
Apple also appears to have removed both the Repeat and Shuffle buttons for podcast playback. Of course, it is safe to assume that those saw limited use when dealing with podcasts.

a lot of users have 3g as their primary internet connection. If you have a large data pack and use tethering to access the internet on a PC/MAC it makes no sense to block app downloads over 10mb. I have to waste time booting my computer and launch itunes to download something the phone is capable of doing itself.
now apple has taken over a large chunk of the mobile phone market they really need to start listening to their customers.
