Rogers quickly phasing out the 6GB/$30 a month iPhone data plans?

Reports are beginning to surface regarding those 6GB/$30-a-month data plans, and it turns out that they they have been quickly disappearing. It seems that particular data plan is no longer in the system, so even a basic account modification such as changing the address on your account will force a change to a currently supported data plan.

This is more than disappointing, because if you remember back, these plans were supposed to be valid for the customers complete three-year agreement.

Unfortunately, it seems that the support staff is also “unable” to correct the issue, and they have to move the customer to a higher priced data plan and then offer account credits to make up the difference.

Bottom line, if you were one of the initial iPhone 3G customers and signed up for the 6GB/$30 a month promo make sure you either do not make any account changes, or at the very least, make sure you are given a proper account credit to make up for any changes.

I’m so frustrated, Rogers reaping people off. Why is it nobody do anything about it. We have to stop Rogers for over charging us. We all have to do something. Even if we are fine and don’t have problem right know it will be our tern too someday.
We have to organize some how some demonstration. As we did some how back then and force Rogers to make this 30$ deal. We have to do it again.

Since I got my iPhone a week after the launch I realized 3 months ago after finally seeing a bill (they go to my grandmother’s address), that they were charging $100 for the $30/6GB data plan…so that was an overcharge of $70+tax a month!

So I called in and they credited my account nearly $500. Well it turns out that they are still charging me $100! I plan to call them tomorrow to once again get them to rectify this and I am very tempted to tell them I wish to cancel my 3 other services with them (home phone, internet and cable), and switch to Bell for a cheaper price.

Unless they are going to offer me some substantial credits on my services I don’t see why they should have my business when all they do is overcharge me and keep raising the cost of services to pad their coffers!
