Syncing your firmware 2.0 iPhone or iPod touch with Ubuntu Linux

Despite Linux being a great option for computing, Linux users are not as lucky when it comes to being able to easily use an iPhone or iPod touch. There are methods to sync, but they are a little more difficult and involved. Thankfully we have communities (like the one behind Ubuntu) with members dedicated to helping others.

In this case a nice tutorial has been posted that covers “Syncing iPhones and iPods Touch w/ Firmware 2.x” with the third party application PwnPlayer. The process looks to be a little involved, just to begin with you will need to jailbreak your iPhone and then install openSSH on it. Nonetheless, if you are looking to use your iPhone (or iPod touch) with Linux then this appears to be a great place to help you get it all working.
