It still looks like we are going to see a battle as to who will have the first full office suite in the App Store. Just recently we saw the news that Quickoffice was planning for a Q2 release, and previously we saw that Documents To Go was also on track for a Q2 release.
Unfortunately, we still do not have any exact date for either app, however DataViz has recently sent out an email offering a status update.
When I first saw the title of the email, which read “Documents To Go for Apple iPhone update” I thought I was going to be able to make a purchase, but not yet. Instead it seems they are just reminding us they are coming. According to the email;
“The wait is almost over!”
What that means is they are planning to have Documents To Go in the App Store sometime in “early to mid May.”
I have used Documents to Go several times in the past on other mobile platforms and have been relatively happy, but in this case, I think I may wait for both office suites to hit the App Store and go with whichever costs less money.
