Just recently we saw the news that Fido was going to begin phasing out sales of the 16GB iPhone, and now we have news that they have begun to sell “refreshed” iPhones. These models, which will be priced at $149 for the 8GB model and $249 for the 16GB model are customer returns.

They are iPhones that have been purchased and returned within the 15 day window, which is different from refurbished models. The refurbished are phones that have been returned and repaired in some way, these are simply returned, cleaned and re-sold at a discount.

Of course, I should point out that these still require a three-year agreement. Also, instead of a full warranty, these refreshed models come with a shorter 6-month warranty.

Basically, you are losing 6-months of warranty time, but getting a $50 discount.
