The SlingPlayer app for the iPhone was submitted for approval just about one month ago, and since then it seems to have gotten stuck in the approval process. We have seen plenty of rumors and stories about why it has not received an approval, however nothing has come in the form of good news.
Unfortunately, the SlingPlayer app is still not available, however we do have a statement from SlingMedia that appears to offer some hope. In a short update that was posted on their website, SlingMedia claims to be “optimistic” that the SlingPlayer app for the iPhone will be available soon.
The team has been working hard to bring the SlingPlayer Mobile experience to the iPhone and iPod Touch. We’ve submitted the first release of our application to the iPhone App Store. We are in close contact with our partners at Apple and are optimistic that it will be approved soon. We hope the wait won’t be much longer. In the mean time, take a sneak peek!
Sadly though, that statement really does not offer all that much other than letting us know that they have not been rejected. As we await approval lets just hope that when it becomes available, it is the version we are hoping for. In other words, lets hope it is not limited to just Wi-Fi. And so, the wait continues.
