A few weeks back we first saw Trent Reznor, the front man behind Nine Inch Nails begin to tease about an upcoming iPhone app. Of course, at the time, he said little more than the app had been submitted for approval and that it was an “exciting geek moment.” Now, fast forward a few weeks and we are finally given some more details.
Before getting into the features, I would go as far as saying that this app should teach other bands what they need to do. Trent Reznor has not only given his fans some free goodies, but is also actively engaging them.
Just to start with, the app offers users an iPhone formatted NIN page which will give access to news and current posts. The app will also feature music and videos that can be streamed as well as plenty of images that come both from the band and other fans. Additionally, the app will also have some social networking features, which could be fun during a concert.
Unfortunately, the app is not yet available in the App Store, however that is expected to come very soon, possibly as early as today (April 7).
