We’ve been hearing rumors of World of Warcraft on the iPhone for quite a while now, but it’s finally looking as if this rumor has become a reality.
Vollee, a company that “ports” CPU intensive games/software onto the iPhone 3G claims that they have finally managed to develop an iPhone compatible version of the world’s most popular MMORPG, World of Warcraft.
The following video was posted on YouTube several days ago, and appears to be World of Warcraft running quite smoothly on the iPhone.
According to MacRumors,
“Vollee has also previously announced upcoming iPhone support as well as a partnership with ActivisionBlizzard which would make this client a distinct possibility. The company, however, has been rather quiet lately and their website is currently not resolving.”
Keep in mind that the credibility of both this video and this software have yet to be confirmed.
If this does actually turn out to be legitimate, then wow! (Pun not intended.) It’s amazing to see just how far handheld technology has progressed in the past few years. The fact alone that it might be possible to run World of Warcraft, or for that matter any other CPU intensive video game on the iPhone is amazing to say the least.
