It has been a few months since we last heard of the Sirius XM iPhone app, and honestly I have already canceled my subscription and almost forgotten about the app. Of course, I am sure there are plenty of people, mostly Howard Stern fans that are still holding their breath for the release.
Anyway, the latest, which honestly is not much suggests that the app will be released in “the next few weeks.” Unfortunately there is nothing really more to that bit, other than it is coming from a Wall Street Journal story, which generally has some authority.
In the meantime, anyone still holding out may want to check out Pocket Tunes Radio (App Store link). I have not used this personally, so I cannot vouch for how well it works, but it does promise to allow you to listen to “web based subscription services for XM and Sirius satellite radio.” I would assume that you are still required to have a subscription of your own, also the Pocket Tunes Radio app will set you back $9.99, but at least it is available now.
