The title of this post really says it all, however I never imagined that it would get to this point. That said, as of now it would be fair to say that I read more on my iPhone than anywhere else.
Of course, if anyone can remember back, I offered a review of the Kindle app shortly after it was released and my “bottom line” read like this;
“I would recommend the Kindle app to any avid iPhone-using reader, even if they do not have a Kindle. That said, for me, I really like it, but it will never replace my Kindle.”
Wow, how things can change in just a few months. I guess I have seen it coming over time, but it really sank in over this holiday weekend. I began to realize that I now use the Kindle app on my iPhone more than my (original) Kindle. At the same time though, I think it is fair to say that I do not enjoy the experience better on my iPhone, but given the fact that it is generally with me it gets used more. Sadly the Kindle app is not where the reading on my iPhone stops.
Just to name a few others, I regularly use the Wall Street Journal, New York Times and USA Today apps. I have also added the recently released All Things D app. These last few apps have even replaced my reading of “regular” newspapers. I have since canceled any home delivery and its been weeks since I made a trip up to the corner store to pick one up.
Unfortunately, there is even more, I use del.icio.us on the web to bookmark items that I want to read later. It serves as a to-read list for me, and is often read on — you guessed it, Safari on my iPhone. Then there is Google Reader for news as well as Tweetie and Twitterific for tweets and to easily keep up with current trends when away from my computer.
I guess in short I think it would be fair to say that I was forming have formed an addiction to my iPhone. But at the same time, I often wonder just how many other people are finding that the iPhone is a suitable replacement for their reading needs.

I’ve found with various mobile devices (I’ve had Windows Mobile, Symbian S60 and I’m now on the Iphone) – that most of my twitters, facebooking and news reading is done on my mobile device – and yes my wife has actually commented that she thinks I’m addicted! D’oh!
One aside – I notice a calendar on you’re locked screen – what app is that?
Cheers!

Hey Matt,
The calendar on my lock screen is from Kate, a jailbroken app that is found in Installer. It is from RipDev. http://ripdev.com/kate
