Apple has confirmed that they will in fact be opening their retail stores at 8 a.m. (respectively) on June 19th in order to meet the consumer demand posed by the release of the iPhone 3G S.
Apple did pretty much the same thing last year in order to meet the demand posed by the iPhone 3G. Queues snaking around the block have become a common occurence on the day of an Apple product release, be it an iPod, MacBook, or in this case, an iPhone.
AT&T will also be opening at 8 a.m., but will allow those who have pre-ordered the device to come in at 7 a.m. to pick it up. Hopefully, AT&T will be able to avoid the activation server failure that plagued last year’s iPhone 3G release!
