AT&T responds; iPhone tethering will not cost $55-a-month

AT&T has taken to Facebook to help ease the rumors surrounding Internet tethering. Basically, in a short statement, AT&T has let us know that the $55-a-month rumors are just that — rumors.

“There are a lot of reports out there, but wanted you guys to know that rumors of $55 tethering plan on top of an unlimited data plan are false. We’ll have more news to share when the iPhone tethering option is closer to launch.”

Unfortunately, they still are not able to provide us with any new information. Personally I am holding out hope that AT&T is going to do the right thing and offer tethering at a fair price. That said, I could end up being totally wrong.
