If you are on the phone and on EDGE, you will not get Notification until you are off the phone. In my case I sent 3 test IMs to the phone while I was on it. Once I hung up, I got 1 alert. If I had waited longer I may have gotten 2 more. This makes since since you cannot have a data and voice at the same time while on EDGE Did one more test on Beejive, on EDGE. But once you are really logged out, you will not get push notifications, but you can have Beejive keep you logged in (to their servers) as long as 24 hours. That is pretty good I think.
