iPhone App developers such as Ziconic, have already begun making use of the iPhone 3GS’s built-in digital compass feature, a feature made available only a few days ago with the launch of the iPhone 3GS (that’s pretty fast isn’t it?)
AirCoaster 3D, an app that existed long before the release of the iPhone 3GS, now implements the digital compass feature, and, might I add, it does an excellent job of it (or at least appears to do so.)
See for yourself:
Keep in mind that compass support has yet to be added to the current version of AirCoaster 3D, and is still in the testing phase.

Maybe I’m stupid, but the application of the compass as a type of controller was totally lost on me. I was too wrapped up in how useful it would be for things like maps and astronomy apps. That is pretty awesome! Also a good answer for all the people who say the only thing new in the 3GS is the compass (which is wrong anyway). Cool stuff, thanks for sharing!
