Sunday seems to be a good day for DataViz Inc as they have just announced the availability of Documents To Go in the App Store.
“Finally! Documents To Go for iPhone is LIVE in the App Store!”
The wait is finally over and app is available in two different versions. One version will offer Microsoft Word editing and desktop sync (App Store link) and the other is offering Microsoft Word editing with Exchange attachments and desktop sync (App Store link). They are priced at $4.99 and $9.99 respectively, however this price is noted as being a “grand opening special” and available for just two weeks.
Unfortunately, neither version is currently offering any support for Microsoft Excel, however that is promised to come in the form of a free update. It should also be interesting to see if we are going to see an updated version (with a little more native cut/copy/paste support) once iPhone OS 3.0 is publicly available.
I have yet to see what the regular or non-grand opening special pricing will be, however at least initially I am thinking that DataViz Inc has an advantage over Quickoffice in terms of price. Personally I was on the fence about whether to go with Quickoffice or Documents To Go and given the price I know which I am going to pick. Of course, without that support for Excel it is really hard to offer a fair comparison.
Well, time to go and check the app out a bit more.
