There has been quite a debate as to how the name of the newly released iPhone is actually written. Of course, none of this is really earth shattering news, except for the fact that it is kind of a pain to write type as iPhone 3G S, so in this case I like the way the outcome seems to have worked out.
Anyway, perhaps this will only make me happy, but here goes.
Despite the name being written as iPhone 3G S on the Apple website and the box for the iPhone clearly having a space between the 3G and the S it seems that Apple is claiming that it should be iPhone 3GS (without the space). This is at least so far according to Ryan Block who has mentioned via Twitter that he received the word from Apple.
“Oh FYI: official word from Apple is that it’s iPhone 3GS — NOT iPhone 3G S, as is printed on their site. Go figure!”
While I trust his word, I have not seen anything come directly from Apple as of now, but that aside, from now on it will be iPhone 3GS for me.
Nothing else here, we can all move along and get back to our regular iPhone coverage now.

Great article Robert, I too am glad that Apple has decided to officially call the new iPhone the 3GS (instead of the 3G S,) you are not alone!
