I have an iPhone 3GS, and at this point I am really missing the Pineapple boot logo and all the goodies that come along with it. For those that are familiar, you will realize the Pineapple boot logo is something that we get when we jailbreak, which unfortunately looks like it not yet going to be released for the iPhone 3GS.
According to a recent posting over on the Dev Team’s blog;
“We can jailbreak the 3GS right now. But making our jailbreak public at this point in time would benefit relatively few people. It would in fact be detrimental to many more people than it would help. So we feel it’s best to keep our version of the jailbreak out of Apple’s sights for the time being.”
Basically, it seems that the Dev Team is going to hold off on the iPhone 3GS jailbreak release until Apple has offered the 3.0.1 firmware update, which is not expected until sometime in July.
“We’re going to wait and see what 3.0.1 brings before figuring out the release date for our version of the jailbreak.”
Overall, I understand the reasoning, however at the same time I am a little disappointed if for nothing else than I am being a little selfish and missing my jailbroken apps.
