Coming courtesy of a comment on an earlier post, it seems like we have some good news for any Google Map loving iPod touch users. The latest software update (OS 3.0) brings Street View to Google Maps.

“Just a heads up to all iPod touch users not sure about paying for the update. Before I updated I had a jailbroken iPod touch so could therefore activate street view for googlemaps via Cydia. Now with the new 3.0 update I won’t have to do this when I re- jailbrake because apple has activated street view for iPod touch users.”

A nice feature to have and one that was previously only available to those willing to jailbreak.

As Matt commented, “this feature will make paying for the update so much more worth while for the majority of iPod touch users.” I could not agree more, plus it is always nice to find those little additions that do not seem to have been documented anywhere. Nice find.
