If you recall, earlier this week, I made a post here on iPhonefreak regarding the leaked images of black matte iPhone 3GS’s [link] Well, as it turns out, those pictures were of the actual (Apple produced) iPhone 3GS.
Now, you’re probably thinking, “aw, why’d they have to get rid of the black matte?” To tell you the truth, I’m not completely sure myself. There is some speculation that it was a last minute design decision on the part of Apple to stick with the current iPhone 3G case style, who knows?
Now, how do we know this matte case was produced by Apple? Earlier today, the FCC released official records proving that the FCC ID on the back of the leaked image [link] matches the FCC ID on the back of the actual iPhone 3GS.
All this in mind, Apple may or may not choose to implement the black matte casing later on. Unfortunately for all of you in favor of the black matte casing, things don’t look all that promising.
