Nielsen report confirms what we already knew about the iPhone

A recent Nielsen report has confirmed some of the items that we could have already guessed about the iPhone. According to the report, iPhone users are made up of a wide variety of people and they use more mobile services than the average mobile phone user.

This report is suggesting that there are currently 6.4 million active iPhone users in the US and that;

  • 5% of the users are between 13 and 17
  • 13% of the users are between 18 and 24
  • 29% of the users are between 25 and 34
  • 36% of the users are between 35 and 54
  • 17% of the users are between 55 and over

Additionally, it looks like 37-percent are watching video on their iPhone, which is about 6 times higher than a non-iPhone user and that 40-percent have a household income of $100k or higher.

A few other notable items from the report include that 88-percent of iPhone users surf the Internet on their phone, 75-percent are downloading apps and that 72-percent are using location based services.
