Any iPhone 3G users looking for an unlock will be happy to read this post. Ultrasn0w has been released for OS 3.0 running iPhone 3G’s.
In order to unlock your iPhone just follow the directions below.
1. Ensure you have upgraded to iPhone OS 3.0
2. Jailbreak your iPhone 3G using redsn0w or PwnageTool (this will also install Cydia/Icy)
3. Run Cydia or Icy
4. Please add the repo repo666.ultrasn0w.com to Cydia or icy
5. Search for ‘ultrasn0w’ in cydia or icy and install ultrasn0w
6. Reboot your iPhone 3G
7. T-Mobile USA users should disable 3G before using ultrasn0w
8. Enjoy
And, yes this is the tool that the Dev Team offered the live demo of last week. Unfortunately, this is still not going to work on the iPhone 3GS, however in addition to the iPhone 3G, ultrasn0w will also work with the original iPhone.

Thanks for the video guide, ive got the new 3gs and was wondering is this safe to unlock the 3g S as well as a 3g running the new firmware?
