We have just recently seen the App Store officially turn one year old and now Apple has announced some more good news in regards to the App Store. According to the details from the press release, the App Store now has more than 65,000 available apps and has topped the 1.5 billion download mark. Overall, pretty impressive for just being open for one year.
Just to break those numbers down a little bit, the 65,000 available apps means that we are seeing about 5416 apps added every month or roughly 180 every day. In terms of downloads, that looks to be about 125 million per month or roughly a little more than 4 million per day.
Strangely, though, those 65,000 apps have come from “over 100,000 developers,” which means that there are about 35,000 developers that have never submitted an app. Of course, that does not take into consideration the fact that many developers have already submitted multiple apps.
