I was recently perusing the App Store when I stumbled across the 23rd most popular free app, “B&N Bookstore.” Interested in what this app actually did, I clicked it and was surprised to find that by downloading this app and showing it to a server at the Barnes & Noble cafe I could receive a free tall coffee (you heard right, free!)

The message reads as follows: “****For a limited time, download the Bookstore App and show it to a server in a Barnes & Noble Cafe to receive a FREE Tall Coffee (hot or iced)! Limit 1 per iPhone.****”

Now you may be wondering, “so I get a free cup of coffee, but what does the app actually do?” Well, to put it in as few words as possible, this app helps you buy books. B&N Bookstore lets you locate stores and search for books, DVD’s, and CD’s. Perhaps the coolest feature of this app is its integration with the iPhone’s camera. If you take a picture of a book cover with this app, it will “find it for you instantly,” as well as provide you with “product details, editorial reviews, and customer ratings,” pretty cool if you ask me.

Just thought I’d share this with all you guys as it’s one of the cooler promo’s I’ve come across. I mean, after all, what’s better than a free cup of coffee?
