I have been looking around for a new case for my iPhone 3GS and since I have had a rubber style for a while I have been looking for a hard shell. Unfortunately, many of the models that I have found are in the $35 and up price range. Sure, that is not all that bad of an investment to protect a $299 phone, but I have been feeling a little on the cheap side.
Then, thanks to a recent posting from Just Another iPhone Blog, I think I found a nice option. The case is called the UltraThin – High Gloss and is from Cretouch. It is made from a “premium” polycarbonate and is noted as having an anti-slip grip. Additionally, as you would expect it has openings for the headset, dock connector and camera. And as an added bonus, they have an opening on the backside that allows the Apple logo to show.
But perhaps best of all, well, best of all if you ask me, is the price. The case is available in two options. You can get either the case only for $12.99 or the case and a screen protector for $22.99. Finally, it is available in either black or white.

I have a similar case, only it is coated with a matte rubberized finish. The only problem with these types of cases is that they don't cover the chrome bezel completely which means, if the iphone is dropped and lands face down, the glass will most likely shatter. – Daniel A Musaraca

I used to have a very thick hard plastic case but I found it too bulky for my liking. The Belkin case I currently use is a thin polycarbonate one-piece case. I highly recommend it. http://www.wirelessphonegallery.com/apple.aspx
