Geohot has just announced the availability of “purplera1n” for the Mac. The news coming in a short but sweet Twitter message stating:
“purplera1n for mac!!!! huge thanks to AriX and westbaer for coding it!!! @ purplera1n.com as usual”
Well, it is time for me to see how well it works as this is the one I was waiting for. Hopefully all goes according to plan. This release can be found on the purplera1n website, however it does not mention anything specific about directions. Personally, I am assuming it will follow the same pattern as the Windows version.
- Download the purplera1n software
- Connect your iPhone 3GS
- Run the purplera1n app and then click the “Make it Rain” button
- Wait
- After re-boot, run the Freeze app on your iPhone
- Then according to the original blog post from Geohot; “Hopefully you’ll figure out what to do from there.”
