“Remotest city on the planet” to get an Apple Store
July 18, 2009 | Tim Bradbury

Perth, a city of nearly 1.6 million inhabitants is considered to be the “remotest city in the world” due to its isolated geographic location on the southwestern coast of Australia.
According to Wikipedia ,
“Perth is one of the most isolated metropolitan areas on Earth. The nearest city to Perth with a population over 1 million is Adelaide in South Australia, which is 2,104 kilometres (1,307 mi) away.”
You’d think that the fourth largest city in the entire country of Australia would have at least have one or two Apple Stores, you’d be wrong. Sure they have their fair share of authorized Apple dealers and the likes, but not an Apple Store in sight. Well, it would appear as if Apple plans to change that, as they recently posted a job listing on their website for an Apple Store in Perth.
Keep in mind that while this may not seem like major news to you or me, if you were one of the 1.6 million people living in Perth without an Apple store you’d be pretty excited. (Plus, you’ve got to admit it’s kind of cool that Apple’s opening a store in the remotest city in the world.)
