Apple and AT&T are being sued due to the lack of MMS messaging on the iPhone

I can say without hesitation that it was only a matter of time before we would see someone bring suit against Apple and/or AT&T in regards to the lack of MMS — and it appears as if that time has come.

Basically, what we have is a class action lawsuit out of Louisiana, that is said to include at least 10,000 individuals.

The suit is in regards to how Apple and AT&T “advertised heavily that the new version of iPhone, the 3G, as well as the even newer version the 3G-S would allow MMS.”

Of course, as most readers here will know that despite the advertising, MMS was not scheduled to be available until “late summer.”

Anyway, it is unclear what if anything will be the result of this suit, and although I think that many are just to quick and eager to sue nowadays, the MMS functionality was a little misleading only because we did see AT&T advertising MMS in stores on launch day.

Maybe, just maybe we are going to be given an MMS update during that rumored September 7 event.

You know what’s more important than MMS on a phone?
    A lot of things.

Well, it’s getting to be “late summer” (on the North American continent anyway) and we still do not have a service we are undoubtedly paying extra for already with the increase in the data plan for the 3G. Although I cannot possibly imagine parting with my 3Gs one cannot help but believe this action will (and should) be spreading across the USA. What is the holdup anyway?

    Yes…….

How much more is the data plan for the 3G/3GS?
And why is there a hold up on MMS?

I’m just tired of always having to wait. First apple isn’t ready now AT&T isn’t ready. We should have had mms on the first gen. iPhone.
But with what time had shown us is that apple and AT&T are all about them selves and we will continue to have to wait for everything we want on our iPhones.

You know man sorry about the harsh words but this is bullshit they have been telling us iPhone users this and getting our hopes up and the only reason I got the new iPhone 3gs Is for the mms and they said late summer … This shit bout damn over I don’t understand this shit…. I’m thinking about verizon touch screen blackberry for a second phone so I might have 2 …….phone services……. This is bullshit man so fuck it…. I know alot of people feel the same… So

Us tech company seem to be about 5 years behind the rest of the world because all those big Corp CEO are worried more about getting their big house and boat and cars then the public. Keep waiting. While we are on the subject, when is apple going to have adobe flash for safari on iPhone?

We’ve had MMS on the iPhone down here in OZ since the release of 3GS. Seriously its not all its hyped up to be. I mostly use sms of voice for quickly contacting someone. And I want to sent something multi media I just use email which is free.
We get charged 50 cents per MMS message down here and its a bit unreliable as to whether the message gets sent/delivered/received.

    Seriously you’re not missing much.

I used to have a jailbroken 1st Gen iPhone and I was able to hack in MMS once Firmware 3.x came out. In the US, anyway, it was pretty awesome — when that phone broke and I got the 3GS I was crestfallen when the Blue Shirt explained that MMS wouldn’t be working for a while on my new, legal, iPhone. Coming from a hacked phone I’d frankly not cared one whit what happened to people using legit AT&T devices, so it was news to me that AT&T wasn’t able to live up to its end of the bargain on multimedia — I told the guy that and he just smiled wanly and nodded his head. He had hacked his phone onto T-Mobile so that he could use MMS as well.

Hey, note to Apple: When your own cult members are turning on HQ, you’re probably fucking up.

I can’t wait for the FCC to break up this little gang of bullies and incompetents and allow innovators to innovate and consumers to vote with their dollars again.

That guy said the only reason he bought the iPhone was for the mms feature. Wow, that seams stupid! I have never used mms on any of my phones and I don’t want or need it on my iPhone. There are many other ways to send mm messages. Apple/ATT please don’t add mms capabilities to your phone service.

I had a iPhone 3G and it broke so I had to wait till I could afford a new one. One of the reasons I did go back was because of the promise of MMS. It was one feature I missed when I had the 3G. Now my 3GS doesn’t have it either as promised and I am a little irritated. Mostly, because my friends/family expect me to be able to send a picture to them and they don’t have phones that accept e-mailed pictures. It does pose a problem. But no… it isn’t the main reason I got the iPhone in the first place. It has so many other wonderful features that just surpass any other phone. I just want my MMS thank you! I pay for it!

Wow your about as smart as a fucking box of rocks here why people are pissed. Especially if you have AT&T your paying 20 dollars a month for unlimited messaging service where if you had a crappy non iphone like a cheap ass flip phone guess what you can take pics and send them! So why if your paying the same amount of $ cash for the service you should be able to use the service to its full potential. I am on T-mobile with a jailbroken unlocked iphone 2g been sending Perfect MMs’s since i have had it! And i only pay 9.99 for unlimited mms or sms up to 5 lines. So piss off Turbotim3!!!!
