AppleCare for the iPhone now available in Canada

We have some good news to report for Canadian iPhone users — AppleCare is now available. Effective immediately, iPhone 3G and 3GS owners in Canada can purchase AppleCare for $79.

For those unfamiliar, AppleCare extends your 90 days of technical support and 1 year warranty to two years for both. Users can also purchase AppleCare anytime before that initial one year warranty expires, however it should be noted that the two year mark begins on the date you purchase the iPhone and not the date you purchase AppleCare.

In terms of coverage, AppleCare offers “parts and labor” for your iPhone, the internal battery as well as the accessories included in the box.

Unfortunately, those who purchased the iPhone 3G on launch day and decided to not go ahead and upgrade to the 3GS are not going to be eligible and sadly Apple is reported to not be offering any extensions on that.
