According to an “industry executive familiar with Netflix’s plans” video streaming from Netflix may be coming to the iPhone. The streaming will work with Netflix’s existing Watch Instantly service, which means that subscribers will be able to stream movies directly to their iPhone.
Sounds like this could be a nice perk for Netflix subscribers and possibly a way to push current subscribers to upgrade to a higher monthly plan so they will be allowed to stream a little more (for those unfamiliar with the Watch Instantly service, the amount of hours that you can stream per month is set by your monthly rental plan with the highest plan allowing unlimited streaming) per month.
Anyway, assuming this app does see the inside of the App Store, it would make a perfect combination with the existing (third party) app PhoneFlix. Given that, users would be able to manage their account and queue as well as watch movies while on the go.
Additionally, this should go without saying, especially after we saw the restrictions with other video apps such as SlingPlayer, that the streaming will be restricted to a Wi-Fi connection. Finally, as you would expect, a Netflix rep could not confirm or deny this rumor.

That would be very good news
)
I am Netflix user, that would be awesome to stream on the phone (if available for 3g, cause if restricted to wifi that would be just ok).
Are you sure about the limit of the streaming though?
I’m only streaming about 4-5 movies a month (on the 10$ plan), but I thought it was unlimited….

Some of the plans have streaming limits on them, I did word it a little funny in my post. Here is a better explanation…
Netflix is currently offering a variety of plans, but they all fall under either the “Netflix Unlimited” or Netflix Limited” categories.
The unlimited plans allow for unlimited streaming and a number of movies based on your choice.
The limited plans allow for only a few hours of streaming.
If you go into your account with Netflix and check out the “Change Plan” link you can see all of the details.
With all of that, I would imagine that more people are using an unlimited plan anyway.

Ok, so I am in the unlimited one (yaou!!
)
Well, we’ll cross our fingers and see what happen with this Netflix app.

It dosent matter what price plan you have, its all unlimited streaming. Unless you have the one movie a month at $4.99
