It has been a few months now since the crippled SlingPlayer Mobile first made its appearance in the App Store, and now it looks like we can expect to see an update coming soon.
According to the information that I have been able to dig up, the updated app (which will go up to version 1.1) has already been submitted to Apple for approval and the waiting game has begun.
In terms of new features, there are a few that sound pretty nice, but as you would expect it does not look like those of us in the US will be getting 3G streaming. Of course, that is not stopping SlingMedia from trying to have a second version of their app approved (with 3G streaming included) for those outside of the US market.
In addition, other new features will include 16:9 widescreen support, DISH Network integration as well as a better remote and a faster connection overall.
As you would expect, nothing in terms of an availability date was mentioned, however we will let you know when version 1.1 becomes available in the App Store.

Thank goodness for the “3G unrestrictor” app inside Cydia. I don’t have to wait on the the judge and jury(Apple & AT&T) to ok it. I have been enjoying slingbox for a month now!!! Yea-aghhhhhh

@Bent24,
Agreed, jailbreaking is wonderful thanks to apps like 3G unrestrictor. My iPhone is able to be used more like I want with apps like that, as opposed to only how Apple/AT&T wants.
