Have dreams of developing your own iPhone app and have no idea where to start. Or maybe you just do not want to pay someone else big bucks to develop and build an app for you. Well, Swebapps has a solution that seems to be both easy to use and designed for someone who is not a developer.
The service is billed as “the easy way to build your own app.” Based on what I have read on the Swebapps website, this solution is being targeted more at small to medium sized businesses and suggests that the app can be created “in minutes.”
Basically, this means that you are not going to be rolling out anything super fancy, certainly not anything along the lines of games but this could be a benefit to a business owner who wants an app and does not have an in-house developer.
According to the website, you can build your app in just six steps which includes the basics such as selecting what kind of business you have, choosing the buttons, layout and any extras that you may want.
In terms of pricing, it is certainly a lot cheaper than paying a developer for a custom built app, but that said, it will still run you a few hundred bucks. Pricing is noted as being anywhere from $200 up to $400, plus a one-time setup fee of $50 and a monthly hosting fee of $25.
The nice part here is that they do have some deals available, such as 10% off if you pre-pay for a year of hosting in advance. In terms of the extras, Swebapps offers a $10 a month option called “App Tracker” which allows you to track the activity on your app such as what buttons are being pressed and how often they are pressed.
The good side here is that just about anyone can create an app for their business. The bad side here is that the apps are going to be a little more on the basic side.

“Based on what I have read on the Swebapps website”…
Really? You’re basing a review on the companie’s web site? Really? Wow. iPhone Freak drops in the credibility dept. Smells like a high school project.

@dave, I never intended this to be a personal review, it was just a mention of something interesting that I found.
